Profile: I am currently studying Business at SFU in Vancouver, BC. My background is Taiwanese but I was born in Washington, DC. I have been building my business with Southwestern Advantage for two years and now I am moving onto my third. When I first heard about the Southwestern Advantage program from my friend, I didn’t think too much about it. One day he told me he put my name down as a referral for the intern-ship; I thought, ‘Fine, I’ll check this thing out but I doubt I’ll do it.’ I received a phone call a few days later…little did I know, that phone call changed my life. That being said, I definitely haven’t changed too much though. I still love music, travelling, hockey (GO CANUCKS!) and occasionally, a dose of The Godfather or Scarface to get my blood rushing.
2012 Goals: My goal for this year is to hit double growth personally (an increase of $11,000 in profit) and help my team and the people around me hit their goals as well.
Why Southwestern Advantage: Initially, I signed up for the program to challenge myself and test my commitment. Until Southwestern, I have never done anything extraordinary in life and I truly regret it. But after I discovered the amazing leaders and friends in Southwestern, I couldn’t imagine going back to my life without them. Looking at the great leaders in the business really inspire me to strive for more. I want to impact others the way they have impacted me. People often wonder about their purpose in life. Thanks to Southwestern I discovered mine: I want my purpose to be helping others realize their purpose; I want to change lives!
Biggest Challenge: Being in school, my biggest challenge right now is balancing school work with Southwestern. I can’t really promote education in the summer when I am bombing it throughout the school year. As well, I need to break my belief barriers so nothing can stop me when the summer comes.
Helping all salespersons with their conviction and training to remember ” We do a great thing!”
Biggest Benefits: Going through another summer, I know I will grow in so many ways. But more importantly, I want the satisfaction of looking back at the summer once more and say to myself, ‘Holy crap, I did it again.’
Interesting Fact: I own five guitars, and I’ve ridden on an ostrich.
